The smooth oiled finish is the opposite of the crazy-horse - it darkens and deepens uniformly with use rather than scratching into a varied pattern. Both ways of ageing are correct; this one is the cleaner, more formal look.
The gunmetal zip is YKK metal - smooth pull, matte finish, no bright metal anywhere on the wallet.

Wipe with a dry cloth. Avoid water immersion (rain is fine; submersion isn't). Neutral leather balm every 6 months is optional — not waxes, oils, or anything from a shoe-shine kit. Patina is expected — that's the point.
